Faculty in Medicine
Supporting faculty in medicine is a key priority for the department. See below for a list of resources.
- Advancing the Workforce in Medicine (AWAM) program actively identifies and provides guidance to faculty within the Department of Medicine to achieve leadership opportunities on institutional, local, national and international levels with the intention of achieving representation, professional rank, and compensation equal to other faculty counterparts.
- Academic Women’s Network (AWN) was established in 1990 by women faculty at WashU Medicine to promote professional interactions and career development and to assist and mentor women in science and medicine. We provide our members an opportunity to network, advocate, inspire and learn.
- Catalyst is an independent nonprofit with a focus on women in the workplace. All Department of Medicine employees can register via Catalyst’s website to access a variety of resources including discussion boards, tools, webinar recordings, and case studies related to accelerating progress for women through workplace inclusion.
- Future Workforce in Medicine (FWIM): The Future Workforce in Medicine (FWIM) was created in 2014 to support the professional and personal development of the trainees in the Department of Medicine. FWIM hosts workshops, lectures and networking events throughout the academic year to provide career development guidance, facilitate mentoring opportunities and foster a sense of camaraderie within the training program.
