Faculty Selected for AAMC Early Career Leadership Seminar

We were fortunate that three of our faculty members—Drs. Naoka Murakami, Namrata Patel, and Abby Sung—were selected to attend the February AAMC Early Career Women Faculty Leadership Development Seminar. The seminar is designed to provide participants with tools for leadership, strategic planning, and career advancement. We commend these outstanding faculty for their accomplishments and look forward to their continued success.

Recognizing Excellence: 2025 LEAD Award Recipients

The 2025 LEAD Awards celebrate faculty who demonstrate excellence in sponsorship & mentorship over their careers. This year’s recipients- Drs. Judy Trieu and Deborah Rubin – each contributed meaningfully to supporting the advancement of students, trainees, and faculty at WashU and beyond. Their work exemplifies the impact of dedicated faculty in shaping a culture support.

Women in Medicine & Science Seminar 2025

On April 3, 2025, the Department of Medicine hosted the annual Women in Medicine & Science Seminar, a well-attended event from participants across multiple disciplines across the medical campus. Speakers shared insights, personal narratives, and professional strategies. Dr. Matifadza Hlatshwayo Davis, Director of Health for the City of St. Louis, opened the afternoon with a keynote address reflecting on her career journey. She spoke on the importance of purpose-driven leadership and the ability to navigate and challenge structural barriers in medicine.

On April 10, Dr. Ebony Boulware, Dean at Wake Forest University School of Medicine & Chief Science Officer, Advocate Health delivered a powerful grand rounds on using historical background to improve health outcomes for all.
