Dr. Saleh Yazeed Saleh Alhalaseh joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine as an Instructor in July 2024. Originally from Jordan, he has pursued a path of academic excellence and dedication to patient care. He graduated from Mu’tah University, Faculty of Medicine, Jordan, where he earned his medical degree in 2019. Before residency, Dr. Alhalaseh completed a diverse range of roles, including a one-year internship in his home country Jordan. During this time, he gained invaluable clinical experience and developed a deep understanding of healthcare delivery in underserved communities. Additionally, he served as a general practitioner in an urgent care center, where he provided primary care services to patients with a wide range of medical needs. Dr. Alhalaseh’s commitment to medical education was evident as he tutored first-year medical students in biochemistry, sharing his knowledge and passion for the field.
He completed his residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, where he further honed his clinical skills and developed a passion for working with underserved populations. Throughout his training, he actively engaged in various projects demonstrating his commitment to medical education and patient advocacy. Dr. Alhalaseh spearheaded quality improvement projects focused on enhancing patient care outcomes, including initiatives related to syncope and orthostatic vital signs, as well as glycemic control in critically ill patients. In his role as an Instructor in Medicine, Dr. Alhalaseh is committed to shaping future healthcare professionals. He employs innovative teaching methods, fostering a supportive environment for student learning and skill development.
Dr. Alhalaseh’s dedication to education extends beyond the classroom, as he serves as a mentor and role model for aspiring physicians. His current areas of interest include general and inpatient medicine, with a particular focus on cardiology. Dr. Alhalaseh has a keen interest in arrhythmias and heart failure, and he is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals with these conditions. Outside of medicine, Dr. Alhalaseh enjoys reading, cooking, and staying active through regular workouts. He looks forward to continuing his journey of professional growth and providing exceptional care for his patients as a member of the Division of Hospital Medicine.
