Dr. Hassan Mujahid joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine as an Instructor in July 2024. He attended The Aga Khan University for his medical degree. He subsequently completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the West Virginia University Hospital before going to the University of Cincinnati for his Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship. His research interests are focused on non-invasive ventilation in COPD, palliative care in the ICU, medical ethics, and pneumonic valves for persistent air leaks.
Specifically, his work focused on a prospective pilot study looking at the use of telemedicine as means to bridge the gaps in health care for rural patients with advanced COPD. Dr. Mujahid is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Thoracic Society, American College of Chest Physicians, and American Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology. His key interests are in Interventional Pulmonology, medical ethics, and bronchiectasis.
