Dr. Arafat Ali Farooqui joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine as an Instructor in July of 2023. He was born and raised in Lahore, Pakistan. He attended the King Edward Medical University Lahore and graduated with honors in 2015. He was the recipient of different scholarships during his educational career. He was actively involved in co and extra-curricular activities and was an active member of different societies including literary society, dramatics, and arts. Dr. Farooqui was honored to be a part of patient welfare society where he along with his colleagues tried to facilitate underserved patient population. He completed his internship and residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY prior to joining the division in 2023.
Dr. Farooqui has had varied interests and participated in different projects during his residency. He represented his residency program in different national conferences. He enjoys teaching and working with both medical students and residents. He has a special interest in research with particular focus on performing systematic reviews and conducting meta-analyses. He has been facilitating his fellow colleagues in their research projects /scholarly activities. His current areas of interest are General Internal Medicine with a focus on in-patient care and with special interest in cardio-oncology. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends. Outside of medicine, his hobbies include exploring new places, trying new restaurants, traveling, cooking, watching movies and listening to music. He looks forward to providing the best possible care for his patients as a member of the Division of Hospital Medicine.
