Dr. Alvin Jeon joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine as an Instructor in June of 2023. He spent much of his childhood growing up in Long Island, New York. He graduated college at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2014. During his undergraduate years, he worked as a research assistant in the Koch Institute, taught students as a teaching assistant, and participated in a collegiate music group. He subsequently worked for two years as a clinical research coordinator at Massachusetts General Hospital in the Division of Gastroenterology, managing IRB correspondence for various studies involving Barrett’s esophagus and colorectal cancers as well as developing simulation models for clinical decision analyses.
He then underwent his medical education at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in Buffalo, New York, during which he coordinated a local student-run clinic, managed soundboard for his church, and learned to drive better in snow. Dr. Jeon completed his internship and residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri prior to joining the Division of Hospital Medicine. He is interested in general inpatient medicine and improving patient care during his time as a hospitalist. He is looking forward to clinical care alongside medical students and resident physicians. Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing video games, trying to improve his cooking, and spending time with his close friends.
