Dr. Syed Ehsanullah joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine as an instructor in June 2020. He was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan where he graduated in 2013 from Baqai Medical University. During medical school, he was actively involved in scholarly activity and co-authored chapters on Hematology and Endocrinology for Comprehensive Pediatric Review. Dr. Ehsanullah completed his one-year internship in 2014 at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, one of the busiest tertiary care hospitals in Pakistan.
After moving to the United States of America to pursue his passion for medicine, Dr. Ehsanullah completed his Internal Medicine Residency in 2017 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. He displayed great communication skills and leadership qualities throughout his residency, and he was chosen to be the Chief Resident of his program. In addition, he also served on the Sepsis and Code committees as well as Safety Huddle Rounds and initiated the Big Brother Big Sister Program which provided hospital exposure to high school students interested in medicine. Dr. Ehsanullah’s passion for research was recognized when he was appointed to head the Resident Research Committee.
At the completion of his residency in 2020, Dr. Ehsanullah moved to the mid-west where he is close to family and serve as a Clinical Instructor.
Dr. Ehsanullah’s hobbies include astronomy, photography, painting, hiking, watching movies and spending time with family and friends.
