Dr. Bin Liu has held research positions at The University of Arizona and Washington University, advancing from Research Scientist III to Senior Scientist before being appointed as an Instructor. Their research contributions have been recognized through numerous awards, including the AHA Cournand & Comroe Early Career Investigator Award Competition Finalist (2024) and First Place Poster Awards at AIMS 2024 and the CAAC/ACRE/CNAHA Joint Research Symposium. Dr. Bin Liu has guided undergraduate students from institutions such as Duke University, Arizona State University, and UC Berkeley. Dr. Bin Liu is actively involved in the scientific community, serving as an Associate Editor for BMC-Cancer, a guest editor for Journal of Oncology and Mediators of Inflammation, and a reviewer for multiple high-impact journals.
Dr. Bin Liu is a member of leading professional organizations, including the American Heart Association (AHA), Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA), and North American Vascular Biology Organization (NAVBO). His dedication to scientific excellence, mentorship, and translational research continues to shape advancements in cardiovascular and pulmonary health. His key interests are vascular biology, pulmonary vascular disease especially pulmonary hypertension. Dr. Liu’s short-term career goal is to be an independent biomedical researcher in the field of lung vascular biology, especially in pulmonary hypertension (PH). He will continue his focus on understanding the mechanisms of endothelial cells dysfunction involved pathogenesis of arterial endothelial cell (ArtEC) programming and its contribution to PH. His long-term goal is to delineate the cellular and molecular profile of PH and identify potential therapeutic targets for treating PH in patients.
