News & Updates

DOM Leaders at Education Day

On October 15, the Department of Medicine was well-represented at the Academy of Educators’ annual Education Day. The event was a resounding success, with eight DOM faculty members inducted into the Academy, and two honored with prestigious Lifetime Achievement Awards. In addition, four faculty members were selected to present workshops or oral abstracts, showcasing their innovative contributions to medical education. Congratulations to all our faculty for their commitment to advancing educational excellence!

Return to In-Person Program Director Meetings

After several years of virtual meetings due to the pandemic, the DOM Program Directors returned to in-person gatherings this month. This highly engaging and productive meeting offered a platform to welcome new leaders, share updates, and set goals and expectations for future meetings. It was a great step forward in enhancing collaboration and shaping the future of our programs.

New Program Coordinator Meetings

For the first time, the DOM Program Coordinators began holding their own meetings, independent of Program Directors. This initiative aims to foster collaboration, share best practices, and develop standardized administrative processes across the department. One of the key goals is to establish a robust training and onboarding program for new coordinators, further strengthening our administrative support.

Fellows’ Council Professional Development Session

The DOM Fellows’ Council recently hosted an in-person professional development session focused on job-seeking strategies and negotiation skills. This session provided fellows with valuable insights and practical tools for navigating the job market and securing successful careers. Thank you to everyone who made this event a success!
