Hilary Babcock, MD, MPH, is a professor of medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and medical director of the Infection Prevention and Epidemiology Consortium and Occupational Infection Prevention for BJC HealthCare. 

She is a fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA). Babcock served as president of SHEA in 2019 and is a member of IDSA’s Inclusion, Diversity, Access and Equity Task Force. As a member of HICPAC (CDC’s Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee) since 2013, she currently is co-chair of the committee. She is a CDC- funded investigator studying healthcare associated infections and respiratory viral infections in healthcare settings. Babcock also serves on the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) faculty advisory board. She is a mentor to many women faculty members at WUSM and other academic medical centers and is a Forum for Women in Medicine Steering Committee member.
