Residents of the Month

Dr. Nick Griffith: “I am a nurse coordinator who works with him in the Resident Clinic. I am nominating him for his professionalism in delivering competent, empathic care to his patients and others. He never hesitates to help out if unable to reach another provider regarding their patients. He continual to progress positively as a 2nd year resident. I feel whatever specialty he decides to pursue that he will do very well in it.”

Dr. Ann Ayzman: “She is absolutely fantastic. Her communication skills with patients, nursing, and families is outstanding and admirable. I, as the attending, felt useless in a good way. She has one of the best understandings of the healthcare system in any resident I have seen.”
“Excellent leadership on Firm”

Dr. David Marcos: “I would like to nominate him for Intern of the Month for his outstanding work during his VA firm rotation. He consistently went above and beyond for his patients, demonstrating remarkable ownership, follow-through, and compassion. Despite not being a categorical internal medicine resident, he took full responsibility for his patients’ care, coordinating with families and consultants, making after-hours calls, and ensuring tests and transitions of care were completed smoothly. He also showed exceptional clinical knowledge and reasoning. He frequently anticipated next steps and initiated accurate, thoughtful plans even before discussing them with senior residents or attendings. His preparation and insight greatly benefitted the team. Most importantly, his empathy, professionalism, and willingness to do whatever his patients needed set him apart. We are lucky to have him this year, and he will be an outstanding ophthalmologist. He embodies the qualities we hope to see in an intern and is highly deserving of this recognition.”
