Insurance Resource Team

The Insurance Resource Team (IRT) was founded in February 2024.

Department of Medicine leadership supported the formation of a team that would assist all divisions with a clear direction in insurance selection. The creation of this team would help improve the overall health of the revenue cycle. Correct insurance selection is a critical part of the revenue cycle, and a high level of inaccuracy has caused financial loss for the University, as well as challenges with patient billing. The IRT is dedicated to creating universal training and materials to assist the Department of Medicine staff with their insurance-related needs.

Staff

The Insurance Resource Team is available to assist Department of Medicine staff responsible for handling patient insurance (ie: insurance verification, authorization, insurance updates, patient registration, etc.).

The IRT website is available to registered users only and requires login with your WUSTL Key. To request access to the IRT website please send an email to DOM INSURANCE RESOURCE TEAM and include your name, department name, and job title. If approved, IRT will email you instructions on how to register.
