Dr. Yamuna Reddy Kondapally joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine as an instructor in September of 2023. She was born and raised in Hyderabad, India. During the final year of her medical school, in 2013, she came to the United States as a visiting scholar to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and Hospital of University of Pennsylvania. She later graduated from her medical school from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, India in 2014. Dr. Kondapally completed her residency in Internal Medicine from Saint Peters University Medical Center/ Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School program in 2020. During residency, she chaired and mentored residents in the performance improvement resident committee – a peer review committee for patient quality and safety which includes reviewing of near miss events, performing root cause analysis and providing required solutions to avoid further events.
The cases reviewed were presented at the Internal Medicine grand rounds. Later she joined as a primary care physician at a rural private clinic in Hemet, California prior to joining the division in 2023. During this period, her main interest developed in teaching and exploring new opportunities in medical field. Dr. Kondapally recently presented a case report on the Coccidioidomycosis at the ACP national conference and also participated as a poster judge as well as abstract reviewer. Her current areas of interest are general internal medicine with a focus on inpatient care with special interest in Hematology/Oncology. Dr. Kondapally recently developed an interest in exploring opportunities in AI in Healthcare. She enjoys cooking and spending time with family.
