Dr. Tej Patel joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine as an Assistant Professor as of July 2025.
Dr. Tej Patel grew up in the Chicago suburbs before pursuing his Bachelors degree in Biochemistry at Drake University in St. Louis. He completed medical school at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and from there moved to Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis for his Internal Medicine Residency and Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship.
During his fellowship training, Dr. Patel pursued a clinical focus on interstitial lung diseases and lung transplantation. After completing his medical training, he joined the faculty within the Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
