Dr. Sunaina (Naina) Rengarajan joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of Dermatology as an instructor as July 2023. She attended Washington University for medical school, PhD in Immunology, and dermatology residency. She primarily attends on the resident run continuity clinic and also sees patients in her own clinic. She is a physician scientist and her clinical and research interests center around disorders of follicular occlusion (Hidradenitis suppurativa, folliculitis decalvans, dissecting cellulitis of scalp, pseudofolliculitis barbae, etc) and complex medical dermatology. She is specifically interested in understanding the role of skin and gut commensal microbes in driving or exacerbating inflammatory dermatologic diseases. In addition to her clinical and research endeavors, she is passionate about mentorship and sponsorship of trainees. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Rengarajan enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and restaurant hopping.
