Dr. Parneet Kaur Hari joins the Department of Medicine

Parneet Kaur Hari, MD

Dr. Parneet Kaur Hari joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine as an Instructor in Medicine in July 2025. She was born in Bathinda, a small town in the state of Punjab, India, in 1996. She has always been driven by curiosity and compassion, which naturally steered her toward the world of medicine. During her medical studies, she was recognized with a meritorious student scholarship. She completed her medical education at Government Medical College in Patiala and graduated with an M.B.B.S. degree in 2021.  

Dr. Hari moved to the United States to pursue residency training in Internal Medicine at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital in Michigan in July 2022. She appreciates the holistic nature of internal medicine and enjoys the challenge of managing diverse medical conditions. In 2023, she had the honor of serving as Chief Resident of her program, a role that allowed her to refine her leadership skills, mentor trainees, and contribute to the academic development of her program.  Her research interests include hepatology, liver immunology, the gut-liver axis, and the gut-brain axis.  She is passionate about healthcare media and patient awareness, aspiring to make medical knowledge more accessible while fostering clarity, trust, and public understanding.  

She enjoys teaching medical students and residents, promoting an environment that encourages continuous learning and growth in the field of medicine. Outside of medicine, Dr. Hari enjoys exploring art and is an ardent film enthusiast. She is fond of traveling and exploring new cultures. She is deeply committed to volunteering for social causes and actively supports the compassionate service of others. Coming from a close-knit joint family, she carries their love and kindness with her, influencing both her personal and professional life. She is excited to provide high-quality care to her patients as a dedicated member of the Division of Hospital Medicine at WashU Medicine.
