Dr. Nathan Frogge has joined the Department of Medicine in the Cardiovascular Division as an Assistant Professor in October 2024. He serves as faculty in the Interventional and Structural Cardiology Section and our West County Clinic, and as Director of Clinical Outreach and Expansion. Dr. Frogge received his BA in Environmental Studies and an MBA with a Concentration in Healthcare Management and Finance from WashU, his MD degree from Rush University in Chicago, and completed his internal medicine residency at University of Chicago. He then completed his cardiology fellowship, and interventional and structural cardiology subspecialty fellowship, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and WashU Medicine.
After completing training in 2022, he joined Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL, where he developed a large cardiology practice and accelerated growth of their TAVR program to over 120 cases in 3 years since inception. He also served as Medical Director of the Cardiac Diagnostics Lab, where he implemented nurse-led stress testing, allowing more efficient re-allocation of physician time to other clinical activities. Dr. Frogge is proficient in complex coronary disease, valvular heart disease, and transcatheter valve repair/replacement, as well as general cardiology. He will expand the scope and practice of WashU interventional and structural cardiology and help grow our ambulatory clinical cardiology practice at current and future sites.
