Dr. Mrunal Patel joins the Department of Medicine

Mrunal Patel, MD

Dr. Mrunal Patel joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine as an Instructor in July 2025. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Trumbull Regional Medical Center, Ohio, where he gained extensive experience in managing a diverse range of complex medical cases. Originally from Gujarat, India, he pursued his medical degree at Smt. NHL Municipal Medical College and has been dedicated to providing compassionate and evidence-based patient care. Dr. Patel developed a passion for internal medicine during his clinical rotations, appreciating the specialty’s emphasis on diagnostic reasoning and patient-centered care.  

His commitment to lifelong learning and his analytical approach to medicine have enabled him to excel in the field. Throughout his residency, he actively collaborated with multidisciplinary teams, focusing on delivering comprehensive care to his patients. With a particular interest in inpatient care, quality improvement, and evidence-based medicine, he is dedicated to optimizing patient outcomes through personalized treatment plans. Dr. Patel looks forward to providing effective and efficient care to his patients as a hospitalist. Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing soccer, tennis, and PlayStation. He also loves spending time with his friends and family, exploring new places, and trying new cuisines.  

Traveling allows him to experience different cultures and perspectives, which he believes enriches both his personal and professional life. He finds that maintaining a healthy work-life balance enhances his ability to provide empathetic and high-quality care, allowing him to stay grounded and fully present for his patients. Dr. Patel is honored to be part of the Division of Hospital Medicine and remains committed to delivering excellent patient care while contributing to the advancement of internal medicine.
