Dr. Megan White joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology as an Assistant Professor in July of 2025. She completed her medical education at Saint Louis University and further honed her expertise through residency and fellowship (both in gastroenterology and transplant hepatology) training at Washington University in St. Louis as well as an obesity medicine fellowship through the American Board of Obesity Medicine. She has a research portfolio, predominantly in Metabolic Associated Steatohepatitis (MASLD) and obesity medicine. Her research experiences include quality improvement projects, case series, and retrospective studies, contributing to the advancement of these fields.
With a strong commitment to education, she actively engages in teaching both medical students and internal medicine residents. Dr. White has delivered lectures as part of their primary care curriculum. She is also passionate about community outreach. Her dedication to service is evident through her work at a free asthma clinic during medical school, her presentations at a stroke workshop for the local deaf community, and her participation in multiple community fairs to promote colon cancer screening. Dr. White is dedicated to advancing gastroenterology and hepatology through innovative research, exceptional teaching, and meaningful community engagement. Her key interests are liver disease, obesity and MASLD.
