Dr. Mallorie Vest joins the Department of Medicine

Mallorie Vest, MD

Dr. Mallorie Vest joined the Division of Hospital Medicine in the Department of Medicine as an Instructor in Medicine in December 2023.  She was born in St. Louis, Missouri and grew up in a family of physicians in Godfrey, Illinois.  She graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a bachelor’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology with a minor in Chemistry.  She earned her medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada in 2020 and completed clinical rotations in Miami, Florida and New York City.  She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Icahn School of Medicine, New York City Health and Hospitals, Queens.  During residency, she gained expertise in the care of patients with acute illness in a diverse patient population.  

She mentored residents and medical students in the practice of internal medicine.  She is certified in various hospitalist procedures. Dr. Vest has had a wide variety of interests and has authored on several internal medicine topics including pancreatitis, neuroendocrine carcinoma, and breast cancer.  She has attended conferences hosted by the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.  Her current interests are in hospital medicine, caring for patients with acute illness, and point of care ultrasound.  After years of travel pursuing her career, she is excited to return to her hometown to be near family and give back to patients in her community.  In her spare time, she enjoys staying active with hiking, sports, and Latin dance.
