Dr. Lakshmi Ramya Chelapareddy attended medical school at Alluri Sitarama Raju Academy of Medical Sciences, under the NTR University of Health Sciences. During medical school she was the head of the sports committee and competed at the university level in various sports. After finishing medical school
she worked as a general physician for one year in India, and then moved to the USA, completing Internal Medicine Residency at St. Mary’s Hospital in St.Louis. During residency, she was involved in rapid improvement projects involving inpatient care and presented posters at the Missouri Chapter of ACP annual meeting. After completing residency she joined the Hospital Medicine Division in the Department of Medicine at Washington University as an Instructor. Her focus is on patients with leukemia, lymphoma and those undergoing stem cell transplants. She is interested in hematology and oncology with focus on malignant hematology, and aims to pursue a career focused in this field in the next few years and strives to acquire a broad knowledge in these fields during her work in the Bone Marrow Transplant area.
