Dr. Kelley Williams Joins the Department of Medicine

Kelley Williams, MD

Dr. Kelley Williams joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Lipid Research on August 17, 2020 as Instructor in Medicine.

Dr. Williams was born and raised in Southern Illinois. She received her undergraduate degree in biology at Saint Louis University in 2011 and her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 2015. Following medical school, Dr. Williams completed her internal medicine residency at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.

She then returned to Saint Louis and completed her endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism fellowship in the division of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Lipid Research at Washington University/Barnes-Jewish Hospital. During her fellowship, she was involved in clinical trials related to the use of therapies for hypercortisolism and acromegaly. She was also involved in a trial evaluating post-operative management of patients following transsphenoidal pituitary surgery. Additionally, she had a research interest in hypogonadism related to hypopituitarism.

In her practice, Dr. Williams sees patients with a variety of endocrine diseases, providing outpatient management to her patients in the Center for Advanced Medicine at Washington University as well as the South County location. She has a strong interest in Transgender Medicine and will join the multidisciplinary Transgender Center to help expand access and care for transgender patients. The Transgender Center helps provide and coordinate gender-affirming hormone therapy, PrEP/STD testing, pelvic care, and referrals for speech therapy, trans-affirming mental health care, trans-affirming surgical and dermatologic care, and fertility preservation. She also has a special interest in pituitary diseases and type 1 diabetes.

In her free time, Dr. Williams enjoys hiking, traveling and spending time with her cat, Fred, and dog, Albus.
