Dr. Juliet Iwelunmor joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases as a Professor as of September 2023. She is on a mission to sustain evidence-based health interventions in resource-limited communities and among young people. She combines more than a decade of authority and leadership in the use of dissemination and implementation science to deliver cutting-edge health programs that create tangible impact. She holds a PhD in Bio-behavioral Health from Penn State University with a minor in demography. She has previously worked as a program specialist at UNESCO in Paris, France.
In addition to being a go-to authority on reimagining health during and following the pandemic using more real-world oriented approaches, Dr. Iwelunmor is a self-described “Light for Public Health” leader who advocates using creativity such as storytelling, poetry, and art, to generate healing and transformation by centering people first in health. She is also committed to diversifying research excellence among research scholars and community organizations using her grants as stories program, a candid and relatable approach to grant writing that seeks to inspire audiences to create health solutions that address the needs of people and communities worldwide. Her key interests are Global Health, Public Health, Community-Engaged Research, Dissemination and Implementation Science, Grant writing.
