Dr. Intelly S. Lee joins the Department of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology as a instructor as of July 2026.
Dr. Lee is a clinical rheumatologist and postdoctoral research fellow studying cytokine-mediated feedback loops that mediate stromal-immune cell tissue circuits in chronic inflammatory and fibrotic skin disease. Clinically, he evaluates and manages general rheumatology patients with a wide variety of autoimmune and autoinflammatory conditions. His clinical and research efforts intertwine to not only be relevant to rheumatology patients with cutaneous manifestations of connective tissue disease but are also aimed at uncovering broader principles of epithelial barrier dysfunction in other organ systems, including the lung and the GI tract. Dr. Lee’s ultimate goal is to become an independent physician-scientist in rheumatology, with a laboratory focus on dissecting tissue circuits at barrier surfaces.
