Dr. Heidi Tastet joins the Department of Medicine

Heidi Tastet joines the Department of Medicine in the Division of Medical Education as an Instructor on September 4, 2019.

Dr. Tastet earned her undergraduate degree in Clinical Lab Science from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan in 2002. She went on to receive her medical degree from Loma Linda School of Medicine in 2008. Heidi completed her family medicine residency at Florida Hospital in 2011 and is board certified in Family Medicine. She is a current member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association. Heidi has been active in primary care in a variety of locations including Maryland, Virginia, New York, and most recently Washington state. Her experience includes both pediatric and adult medicine and she is passionate about lifestyle medicine. She believes in assisting patients in developing reasonable health goals and in providing them with all of the tools at her disposal to help them achieve their goals. Heidi’s interests extend to global public health and she has volunteered for overseas healthcare service work on several occasions. She will be enrolled full time at the Brown School of Public Health, pursuing a Master’s in Public Health with an anticipated graduation date of May 2021. Heidi plans on using her degree to further both local and global health initiatives and hopes to help tackle some of the health concerns surrounding major infectious and chronic diseases that have affected the global community. Heidi is especially interested in working with vulnerable patient populations including women and children. She will be relocating from Seattle, Washington, and joining the St. Louis, Missouri community with her husband and two young children.
