Dr. Christian McNeely joined the Department of Medicine in the Cardiovascular Division as an Assistant Professor in June of 2024. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with Distinction in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Minors; Chemistry, Spanish in 2011 and his MD degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 2015, where he graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. Dr. McNeely did his residency in Internal Medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University School of Medicine from June 2015 to June 2018.
He then did his Cardiology Fellowship and subsequently Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University School of Medicine from June 2018 to July 2022. From July 2022 until present, he has worked as an Interventional Cardiologist at SSM St. Joseph in Lake St. Louis and St. Charles, serving the St. Charles County population and surrounding communities. In addition to his clinical work, he has held multiple leadership positions within the SSM cardiovascular service line. He is a clinical faculty with a primary interest in interventional cardiology and general cardiovascular medicine.
Dr. McNeely treats patients within all areas of cardiovascular medicine including coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, peripheral arterial disease, and basic electrical disorders. He has a strong interest in developing a physician-patient relationship as well as patient continuity. Being easily available to his patients is of great importance to him. He places considerable emphasis on preventative care through focusing on diet, lifestyle, and medications to achieve optimal health and longevity.
