Dr. Charles Crecelius joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of General Medicine and Geriatrics as an Associate Professor as of November 2023. He remains involved with his national society, AMDA -The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care, being a Past President, Past Chair of Public Policy, Medical Director of the Year 2019 and longstanding representative to the AMA Relative Value Update Committee and ACP Subspecialty Group on Socioeconomic Affairs. Dr. Crecelius continues to present regionally and nationally on billing and coding, value-based medicine, advance care planning, transitions of care and polypharmacy in this area. He was Medical Director for an 8 year long CMMI project through the University of Missouri on Reducing Avoidable Hospitalizations. He taught geriatric medicine to residents, nurse practitioners and fellows. His key interests are post-acute and long-term care nursing home patients, processes and finances.
