Benjamin Clement, MD

Dr. Benjamin Clement joins the Department of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology as an Assistant Professor as of July 2026.

Dr. Clement earned his medical degree from Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan followed by internal medicine residency at the University of Wisconsin in Medicine. He was selected to be a chief medical resident for the William S. Middleton Memorial Veteran’s Hospital where he engaged in teaching and mentoring of numerous medical students and residents. He then completed his gastroenterology at the University of Cincinnati where he developed a keen interest in inflammatory bowel disease and advanced endoscopic techniques, leading him to pursue inflammatory bowel disease fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis.

Beyond his clinical and research interests of intersecting inflammatory bowel disease and endoscopy, he loves medical education and mentoring students, residents, and fellows. In his free time he enjoys gaming with the friends he’s made throughout his many moves, gardening, cooking, and spending time with his wife and children.
