Dr. Amani Khalouf joins the Department of Medicine

Amani Khalouf, MD

Dr. Amani Khalouf joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine as an Instructor in October 2025. She was born and raised in Damascus, Syria before moving to the United Arab Emirates in 2013 to pursue her medical degree in Medicine and Surgery in University of Sharjah, UAE, while simultaneously working on basic cellular research in modifying biological pathways involved in Obesity. Dr. Khalouf graduated with Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2019 and joined Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi for Emergency Medicine Residency. During her residency, she served in acute stepdown units of COVID 19 patients during the COVID 19 outbreak. Meanwhile, Dr. Khalouf cultivated her interest in Cardiac Critical Care and was involved in multiple research projects including COVID 19 patients and Cardiac patients.  

She was also active in academia and peer education and a member of the “International Emergency Medicine Education Project” as well as podcast education in “ECREM Talks”. She then moved to the USA for further training and completed her Internal Medicine Residency training in Rochester General Hospital, NY in 2025. Dr. Khalouf received an excellence award in her first year of residency for outstanding performance and was active in database retrospective research for multiple cardiovascular diseases. She has special interest in autonomic dysfunction groups and POTS patients. Dr. Khalouf can speak English, Arabic and Turkish at an excellent level and brings with her a worldwide experience of the practice of medicine with multiple cultural background groups. In her free time, she enjoys reading, jogging, spending time with family and listening to music.
