Dr. Adam Kneepkens joins the Department of Medicine

Adam Kneepkens, MD

Dr. Adam Kneepkens joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine as an Instructor in July 2025. He was born and raised in Duluth, MN, before attending Saint Louis University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in political science and biology. While at SLU, he was a member of the University Honors Program, worked as an ambassador in the Office of Admission, and served as Chair of Relay for Life, raising funds for American Cancer Society patient support services and cancer research.

Following this, he returned to Minnesota to receive his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School in the Twin Cities. During medical school, he served several roles within the student leadership team, helping develop clinical curriculum and improve student life. He also completed a quality improvement summer internship with M Health Fairview and was involved in research projects across various areas of medicine. Dr. Kneepkens completed his internal medicine internship and residency training at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis prior to joining the Division of Hospital Medicine.

He decided to stay at BJH/WashU following residency because of the cooperative culture and excellent patient care offered to all patients. His clinical and professional interests include medical student and resident education, quality improvement work, complex patient care coordination, resource utilization, and improving patient experience. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends. He also enjoys playing pickleball, hanging out in Forest Park, trying new restaurants, road-tripping across the United States, and rooting for the Green Bay Packers.
