Dr. Aaron Russell was born and raised in Northern California. He graduated from UCLA with a BS in Neuroscience. He then moved to St. Louis and earned his medical degree from Washington University. Following medical school, Dr. Russell completed an internal medicine prelim year at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. He then returned to Washington University to complete his dermatology residency. Early on in his dermatology training, Dr. Russell developed a strong interest in dermatopathology. Following residency, he pursued an additional year of dermatopathology fellowship training at Washington University. He then joined the faculty of the Dermatopathology Center in 2021.
Dr. Russell now practices general dermatology and dermatopathology at Washington University School of Medicine. When he is not at the microscope, he is busy seeing patients at Washington University’s West County location. He enjoys being involved in both facets of patient care, from the clinic to the laboratory, as it gives him a broader perspective on the field of dermatology. Dr. Russell is actively involved in resident medical education and is working to expand and improve the program’s dermatopathology curriculum. In his free time, Dr. Russell enjoys spending time with his wife and friends, travelling the world, eating delicious food, and learning to speak Korean.
