Dr. Aaron Case joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine as an Assistant Professor in August 2025. He is interested in health services research, specifically understanding how to best optimize the intermediate care setting for both nursing and patient outcomes. As more severely ill patients present to the hospital with ICU beds at capacity and intensive shortages, it is necessary to examine how factors like bed boarding and triage decisions impact patient care.
His key interests are caring for critically ill patients both within and outside of the intensive care setting while working with multi-disciplinary teams. Dr. Case’s teaching interests include educating trainees about bedside procedures, reviewing common ICU pathologies, and gaining the skills to provide excellent patient care in the ICU setting.
