Dear Colleagues,
It gives me great pleasure to announce that Vlad Kushnir, MD, has accepted the position of Director of Interventional Endoscopy effective December 1, 2021.
Dr. Kushnir attended medical school at The Ohio State University and completed his internal medicine residency, GI fellowship and advanced interventional endoscopy training here at Washington University, joining the full time faculty in 2013. Over the last few years, Vlad has expanded his interests to the development and validation of novel endoscopic devices and applications in interventional endoscopy broadly and to endoscopic bariatric practice in particular. He has contributed original research across a range of topics including Barrett’s esophagus and endoscopic ablation techniques, bariatric endoscopic practice and the management of biliary-pancreatic cystic disease. These interests have resulted in more than 50 original manuscripts. Vlad has taken on important leadership roles as director of innovation and technology for the interventional section as well as participating in the clinical expert council for BJC. Most recently, he was elected to Fellowship in the American Gastroenterological Association in 2021.
Please join me in thanking Dan Mullady for his leadership of the section over the last several years, and in congratulating Vlad Kushnir on this well- deserved appointment as the new Director of Interventional Endoscopy.
