Call for Proposals: Nutrition Obesity Research Center (NORC) Pilot & Feasibility Program

The Nutrition Obesity Research Center (NORC) Pilot & Feasibility Program provides annual grant awards to junior faculty, offering mentorship on their projects and career development. Support is typically awarded for one to two years, allowing eligible investigators to explore the feasibility of a concept related to the NORC’s mission and generate sufficient data to pursue further funding (e.g., R01).

Purpose: The major objective of this program is to provide research support for testing innovative hypotheses related to nutrition and obesity in disease prevention, pathogenesis, pathophysiology, and therapy.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • No citizenship requirement for P&F applicants.
  • New investigators without current or past NIH research project support (R01, P01, or R24) or other large extramural research support as a Program Director/Principal.
  • Postdoctoral trainees in their final year of training who possess suitable expertise and independence to design and carry out planned experiments and can provide documentation of their faculty appointment at WashU at the program’s initiation.
Awards of up to $50,000 for one year are available
