Interns of the Month

Dr. Ghandi Hassan: “He greatly impressed clinic support staff at the PCMC. He had a visit with a patient who was extremely distressed because he was losing vision in his eye. He went above and beyond, calling the ophthalmology clinic to get him a last minute appointment at the end of a busy day and even wheeled the patient to the appointment himself. When the patient was cold he gave him his white coat to wear because the warm blankets were all gone. He was extremely caring and empathetic with the patient, ensuring him that he was being taken care of and would have the follow-up he needed. Thanks for being a great doctor to your patients!”
“Going above and beyond for a patient in the PCMC. He was empathetic, ensured the patient was comfortable, took the time to personally get the patient an appt with the specialist ASAP and took the time to escort the patient to the specialist.”

Dr. Rae Yuan: “She showed an exemplary dedication to her patients. She saw each of them at least twice daily, often unveiling important symptoms or concerns on her afternoon rounds. She listened intently to their concerns and worked tirelessly to care for them. She also carefully thought about each complaint, no matter how small, coming up with a full differential and considering all the objective data. She kept family members updated for patients who couldn’t and showed poise and empathy when taking care of a patient with a new malignancy diagnosis whose family was looking to her for guidance on goals of care and next steps.”

Dr. Sawal Mikhail: “Salwa did a great job senioring on cardiology firm. She helped two interns get acclimated to the service, and approached each day with patience, kindness, and professionalism. She ensured that tasks were completed efficiently and consistently followed up with gentle reminders that never felt critical. Beyond her organizational skills, she found time to teach important clinical pearls. She created a truly supportive, fun, and engaging work environment. Her leadership truly set the tone for a positive experience on firm. “
