Dr. Daniel Guy joins the Department of Medicine

Dr. Daniel Guy joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of Oncology as an Instructor in July, 2018.  He was previously affiliated with the Oregon Health and Science University.

Dr. Guy was born and raised in Tel-Aviv, Israel. He completed an undergraduate degree in Life Sciences at the Open University of Israel before embarking on military service for three years at the Israeli police emergency coordination center. He then attended the Sackler School of Medicine at the Tel-Aviv University, where he earned a Bachelor degree in Medical Sciences as well as an MD degree. After working as a primary care provider for two years, he decided to pursue residency training in Internal Medicine, which was completed at the Oregon Health and Science University in Portland Oregon. During residency, he wrote a phase II clinical trial protocol on the use of direct oral anticoagulants in patients with multiple myeloma treated with immunomodulatory drugs. He also assisted in researching “Genetrails” as surrogates for minimal residual disease in patients with acute myeloid leukemia and myelodysplastic syndromes. Currently a fellow in Hematology and Oncology, he strives to acquire a broad knowledge of clinical hematology and oncology combined with clinical research. His clinical interests are hematologic malignancies and bone marrow transplant. His research activities include clinical trial design and quality improvement. He is mentored by Dr. Brad Kahl, with whom he wrote a clinical trial testing novel agents in patients with newly diagnosed mantle cell lymphoma. He also has a strong interest in medical education and enjoys working with residents and other trainees in all levels of competence. In his free time, he enjoys fitness, classical music and baking. Dr. Guy is fluent in Hebrew and speaks advanced German.
