Residents of the Month
Cody Hart

Despite this being his first time serving as a senior, he did an outstanding job leading our team. He worked tirelessly to ensure everything was well organized, no detail was overlooked, and the service ran smoothly. At the same time, he created a genuinely welcoming and supportive environment where everyone felt comfortable asking questions and learning. Most importantly, he always had our backs, making us feel supported even on the busiest days. His leadership, dedication, and encouragement made a tremendous difference during my first month, and I truly appreciate everything he did for our team.
Nick Griffith

Nick did an outstanding job as the senior on Cards Firm. Thanks to his leadership, the team ran extremely smoothly and was well organized. He was always willing to help the interns with orders and other tasks. Both interns commented on how he eased their transition. He made the students feel like part of the team and they noted that they had learned a lot even in 1 week working with him. He was always one step ahead in his management plans and constantly thinking about discharge planning. He is very detail oriented which showed in how comprehensive his assessments/plans were. He handled several complex, urgent patient care situations with poise.
Intern of the Month

Summer Kirkpatrick
“I honestly can’t believe this was her first Firm rotation. She operated independently at a level far beyond what is expected of a new intern. She was always on top of her tasks, placing full admission orders before I even had a chance to ask. She knew both sides of the list well and did an excellent job discharging my patients on her solo day. Her fund of knowledge was outstanding, her notes were concise yet thorough, and I was impressed by her strong rapport with patients. Several of them even asked about her by name after she went off-service. My job as a (new) senior felt far too easy with her as my intern. It was truly a privilege to work alongside her and I have no doubt she will continue to excel on whatever team she works with next!”
Kudos

He has “excellent bedside manner, breadth of knowledge, and dedication to medical student education. Nishanth consistently took time out of his day to teach medical students high-yield concepts for MedFirm, showed medical students efficient ways to navigate and use Epic, and prepare students by reviewing questions the attending might ask so they could feel confident and well prepared. He also regularly sought out learning opportunities for students and made a point of highlighting and advocating for the medical students on service, ensuring they were actively involved in patient care and teaching.”

I met Roshini before her very first night shift in the CCU. Although she had no prior CCU experience, she quickly grasped everything we discussed during sign-out. By the next day, I was genuinely impressed by how rapidly she had learned many of the hemodynamic concepts that are fundamental to caring for critically ill cardiac patients. Despite an exceptionally busy month, she remained engaged, dependable, and a joy to work with. Roshini is incredibly kind, approachable, and intelligent. She is the kind of teammate who makes everyone around her better, and any team would be fortunate to have her. I hope she chooses cardiology as her career; I would be thrilled to welcome her as a future colleague and as part of the growing community of women in cardiology.

It is always a pleasure to work with Spencer. He is exceptionally kind, approachable, and genuinely invested in the success of those around him. He consistently goes above and beyond to ensure his patients receive outstanding care. Spencer will make an outstanding cardiologist: someone I would be excited to work alongside and would trust without hesitation to care for my own future patients.

Natalie’s thorough standard of care, consistent communication, and trust inspiring bedside manner were remarkable. Of course a budding neurologist is comprehensive, but the care Natalie showed in every aspect of her work is apparent as something innate and honed over time. Her patients were lucky to be in her care!

Kudos for Dalton Hill, who was shouted out as an “exemplary teacher” on Med Firm by the clerkship students who worked with him recently. Thank you, Dalton, for all you do to teach our students!
