Dr. Douglas Kepko joins the Department of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases as an Assistant Professor as of July 2026.
Dr. Kepko earned his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine before completing residency at Summa Health. During residency, he focused on educating medical students and interns prior to starting fellowship at Ohio State University in Infectious Diseases. During the first year of fellowship, he completed a research project evaluating the clinical outcomes of the HIV Fellows Clinic. In the second year, he focused on infection prevention, joining the medical directors of epidemiology in reviews and meetings and completing a quality improvement project on the MRSA HOB.
