Dr. Curtis Broberg joins the Department of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine as an Instructor as of July 2026.
Dr. Broberg was born and raised in Wenatchee, Washington, where he developed an early appreciation for the outdoors while spending time in the Cascade Mountains and along the Columbia River. He earned his undergraduate degree from Yale University, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2016 with a major in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. During this time, he was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society. Following graduation, he conducted basic science research in the laboratory of Dr. Shirin Bahmanyar, studying proteins involved in organelle membrane dynamics.
Dr. Broberg moved to St. Louis in 2018 to attend WashU Medicine. During medical school, he served as a head of the Wilderness Medicine Interest Group and as a student leader for the Erlanger-Graham Academic Society. He also pursued research in peripheral nerve injury and repair in the laboratory of Dr. Snyder-Warwick. He remained at Washington University to complete his Internal Medicine residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
Dr. Broberg is dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to hospitalized patients in the St. Louis community. His clinical interests include general inpatient medicine, palliative care, and improving the patient experience during hospitalization. He is also passionate about medical education and values opportunities to teach and mentor students and residents in the inpatient setting. His professional interests include LGBTQ+ health and fostering collaborative, interdisciplinary care models that support both patients and healthcare teams.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Broberg enjoys hiking, camping, attending live music events, exploring new restaurants, pub trivia, and spending time with friends and family.
