The Department of Medicine Intern Welcome party was hosted this year at the Lakeside Venue in the St. Louis Zoo.
On Saturday, June 7, 2026, more than 120 interns from across the country gathered for an evening of refreshments, hors d’oeuvres, and meaningful conversation. The event provided a welcoming opportunity for interns to meet one another, connect with faculty and Department of Medicine Division Chiefs, and engage with Dr. Vicky Fraser, Chair of the Department of Medicine, as well as fellow peers.
To help encourage conversation and build connections, each table featured “Get to Know You” icebreakers, creating an inviting atmosphere for interns to share experiences, make new acquaintances, and begin forming relationships that will support them throughout their time in the Department of Medicine.
The Saint Louis Zoo, officially known as the Saint Louis Zoological Park, is a zoo in Forest Park, St. Louis, Missouri. It is recognized as a leading zoo in animal management, research, conservation, and education. The zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is free to visit.
