Residents of the Month

Dr. Antara Dattagupta: “Despite already being a phenomenal resident, she displayed an unwavering commitment to personal growth, soliciting and implementing feedback, and hardest of all, giving feedback and holding accountable her team. “
“She is a team player. She frequently not only knows the nursing staff by name (both new and existing staff) but she takes the effort to address them by name. She has built great professional relationships with the staff of the unit. Our staff feel that she values their input and works to ensure the best for the patients and staff. From a patient care point of view: it is evident that she knows her patients, anticipates their needs, is interested and invested in their best outcomes and goes above and beyond in coordinating that care.”

Dr. Ahmad Hassan: “This was first his ever firm rotation as an IM resident at WashU and it was a senior but you could not tell at all. He exceeded my expectations and did an amazing job managing the team and providing a safe environment for people to learn and grow. Reviews from both interns and med student was stellar and one intern said was not only the best senior she has worked with but one of the nicest people she has met since moving to
St. Louis.”

Dr. Jessica Liebich: “I worked with her before and I have seen how competent she is so my expectations were high. She surpassed them. Her positive attitude, calm and friendly demeanor, strong knowledge base, and most importantly her adaptability is a fantastic asset to have on the team. She was able to go from a complicated list of 6-7 patients to 0 patients twice during our 3 weeks rotation, and doing it while safely and efficiently guiding these patients to their post discharge medical plan. She worked really hard on these complicated discharge plans, many of them requiring her to go back and forth with pharmacy, case management, and patient representatives. She also demonstrated strong level of independence in her medical plans and ability to forecast difficult or dangerous situations in patient care which made my job as a senior even easier. She was able to run two ACTs under supervision efficiently and making all the right decisions. I believe she is a fantastic physician and an awesome person to work with.”

Dr. Ashleigh Irwin: “What impressed me most was her commitment to teaching the medical students, giving them space to grow and constant feedback for their growth. She was confident in decision making and also knew her limits – she always had plans in places backed up by references, and had specific questions on rounds that guided management. She made firm fun and exciting by committing to that growth and the growth of others.”
