Remembering Steven Teitelbaum, scientist, physician, mentor, friend, and family man

Steven L. Teitelbaum, MD, an anatomic pathologist and giant in the bone research community, died December 15, 2025, at the age of 87 (Figure 1A). Except for a short time at New York University during his clinical training, he spent his entire career at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, working alongside other pioneers in the bone and mineral metabolism field, such as Louis Avioli and William Peck.
