AAMC Mid-Career Women Faculty Development Seminar

We’re proud to announce that three distinguished faculty members in the Department of Medicine have been selected to receive funding to attend the prestigious AAMC Mid-Career Women Faculty Leadership Development Seminar in December 2024:

Leslie Gewin, MD
Associate Professor of Medicine
Anuja Java, MD
Associate Professor of Medicine
Nishath Quader, MD
Associate Professor of Medicine

This highly competitive program is designed to foster leadership development among women in academic medicine and to support their continued progression into senior faculty and administrative roles. Their selection underscores their exceptional achievements and dedication to advancing both their fields of expertise and the broader mission of academic medicine.

Recognizing their leadership potential and ongoing contributions to medical education, research, and clinical care, The Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and the Office of Faculty Promotions & Career Development at Washington University have been awarded these faculty funding to attend the leadership development program. The AAMC seminar offers a comprehensive curriculum that focuses on leadership skill-building, strategic career planning, and cultivating meaningful connections with peers and mentors across the country. Through participation in this seminar, Drs. Gewin, Java, and Quader will gain invaluable insights and tools to navigate their professional journeys and prepare them to strategically advance their careers.

The Department of Medicine supports the additional expenses for faculty to attend.
