Dr. Kai Jones joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology as an Assistant Professor in August 2024. Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dr. Jones earned the BA in Biology from Washington University in 2015 and the MD degree from Washington University in 2019. Between 2019 and 2022, she completed Internal Medicine Residency Training at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Between 2022 and 2024, she trained as an endocrinologist in the WashU Endocrinology Fellowship program. Dr. Jones is deeply committed to delivering culturally sensitive and equitable care to a diverse population of diabetes patients, with an emphasis on nurturing long-term patient relationships. As a sub-investigator, Dr. Jones is actively involved in a Quality Improvement Project aimed at increasing depression screening rates among individuals with Type 1 Diabetes at the Washington University/BJC Diabetes Center. This project is designed to create a protocol for identifying mental health disorders that negatively affect our patients and lay the groundwork for developing a supportive system for these patients.
