Nigeria has one of the highest rates of maternal cardiovascular disease and death. Poor cardiovascular health also negatively affects thousands of pregnant women in St. Louis and other Missouri communities. WashU faculty researchers from the Global Health Center, School of Medicine and the Brown School are joining forces with Nigerian cardiology experts, and Parents as Teachers National Center to address these critical issues.
