Dr. Catherine Hermann joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of General Medicine and Geriatrics as an Assistant Professor as of August 2023. In her practice, she has emphasized primary prevention for hypertension, cardiovascular disease and diabetes. She enjoys working with students and internal medicine residents, both teaching and learning from them. They push her to keep growing in medical knowledge. Dr. Hermann’s key interests are focusing on preventative care and outpatient centered medicine. She emphasizes lifestyle modifications when possible for disease prevention and management. She also tries to aggressively promote primary prevention of cardiovascular disease. Her research areas are in asthma awareness in a pediatric population.
