Dr. Anjali Rohatgi joins the Department of Medicine

Anjali Rohatgi, MD, PhD

Dr. Anjali Rohatgi will be returning to Washington University in St. Louis this fall to join the Division of Oncology and Siteman Cancer Center. She earned her bachelors of science in biochemistry from Michigan State University. She then joined the MSTP at Washington University where she earned her PhD characterizing the innate immune response to Chikungunya virus in the Department of Immunology. She went on to complete her internal medicine training at Weill Cornell / New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York. While there, she cultivated her interest in immuno-oncology before joining the Hillman Cancer Center at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center for her fellowship training.

She found a home in the melanoma division where she worked to design and implement clinical trials for patients with immunotherapy resistance. She was also active in translational research, studying the tumor microenvironment of melanoma brain metastasis. She is looking forward to continuing her research at the Siteman Cancer Center as part of the thoracic oncology group. Dr. Anjali Rohatgi is passionate about delivering high-quality, individualized clinical care, and is eager to serve cancer patients in this region. In addition to research and clinical care, she is excited to work with trainees to return the excellent training that she received.
