She helped develop and subsequently taught the endocrinology section for the “Internal Medicine Bootcamp”, a series developed as a crash course for fourth year medical students pursuing an internal medicine residency. Additionally, she created educational modules designed for the teaching of fellow residents about the management of common inpatient endocrine pathologies. During her internal medicine residency, Dr. Blount was awarded the Bryan Award her intern year for excellence in outpatient clinical medicine. In her second year, she was awarded the Golden Boots Award, given to the junior resident who demonstrates outstanding clinical judgment. Dr. Blount has a clinical interest in inpatient medicine, high value care, and underserved populations including LGBTQ. She is also interested in palliative medicine, end of life care, and endocrinopathies. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Blount enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, Tom, a pediatric cardiology fellow, and their bulldog, Clarence.
