Dr. FNU Meena joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine as an Instructor in September 2024. She was born and raised in Hyderabad, Pakistan, and received her medical education at Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro, Pakistan, which is one of the oldest and top-ranked medical universities in the country. After graduation from medical school in January 2014, she did one year of required training at Liaquat University Hospital and then worked as a medical officer for two years near her hometown before moving to the United States to pursue further training. Dr. Meena received her internal medicine residency training at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, New York. As a resident, she enjoyed teaching medical students and residents. She also participated in the development and implementation of quality improvement (QI) for improving interprofessional workflow in inpatient medicine during her residency training.
Dr. Meena’s current areas of interest are general internal medicine with a focus on inpatient care, with a special interest in endocrinology and obesity medicine. She finds great satisfaction in the complexities and nuances of hospital medicine, with a particular passion for high-value care and medical education. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Her other hobbies include painting, designing, cooking, and listening to music. She is excited to join the Division of Hospital Medicine at Washington University to accomplish her goals of having a meaningful and positive impact on the health of people, especially the underserved communities, by providing evidence-based, high-quality care. Her key interests are hospital medicine, inpatient care, endocrinology and obesity medicine.
