Dr. Mohamad Hekmat Sukkari joined the Department of Medicine in the Division of Hospital Medicine as an Instructor in July 2025. He completed a comprehensive and rigorous internal medicine residency at Southern Illinois University. Dr. Sukkari brings a wealth of experience, advanced training, and a strong clinical background to his role, focusing on delivering exceptional care to adult patients across a wide range of medical conditions. During his residency at Southern Illinois University, Sukkari honed his diagnostic and clinical management skills while cultivating a deep interest in general internal medicine, preventive medicine, and cardiology.
He also completed focused training in cardiology at the University of Florida. This extensive training has provided him with a solid foundation for a successful career in internal medicine, blending scientific expertise with compassionate, patient-centered care. Dr. Sukkari is deeply committed to delivering individualized care, prioritizing patient education, collaboration, and preventive health measures.
